We have so many wonderful medicinal herbs in the
garden. Many are already coming up beautifully and even starting to bloom. A
pleasure to get to know and to use these wonders of Mother Earth better!
Sage
Grows with ease, from seed, into a beautiful
ornamental plant! In addition to her splendor, she has a strong cleansing
power. Here's what a founder of naturopathy,
Sebastian Kneipp, says about
Sage:
- Just rub fresh leaves on browned teeth! You
will discover the cleansing power.
- Old purulent wounds or inflammations on the
gums heal quickly when washed with a decoction of sage (50gr on 1 L of water)
- Sage tea (20 to 30 g of fresh or dried leaves
in 1 L of water) heals mucous membranes of the palate, throat and stomach.
- Sage tea cleanses liver and kidneys.
- Sage tea promotes digestion, reduces coughing
and cold and prevents sweating.
- Dried sage leaves between the linens keep the
insects away.
However, because of its potential irritating
effect, never use sage for too long or in large quantities. I just dried a
bunch of Sage leaves for tea as I had to cut back a plant. And it gives also a
lovely tea!

Sage
Inakua kwa urahisi, kutoka kwa mbegu, kwenye
mmea mzuri wa mapambo! Mbali na utukufu wake, ana nguvu kubwa ya utakaso. Hivi
ndivyo mwanzilishi wa naturopathy,
Sebastian Kneipp, anasema kuhusu Sage:
- Sugua tu majani mapya kwenye meno yenye rangi
ya hudhurungi! Utagundua nguvu ya utakaso.
- Vidonda vya zamani vya purulent au kuvimba
kwenye ufizi huponya haraka wakati wa kuosha na decoction ya sage (50gr kwa 1 L
ya maji)
- Chai ya sage (20 hadi 30 g ya majani safi au
kavu katika 1 L ya maji) huponya utando wa mucous wa palate, koo na tumbo.
- Chai ya sage husafisha ini na figo.
- Chai ya sage inakuza digestion, hupunguza
kukohoa na baridi na kuzuia jasho.
- Majani ya sage yaliyokaushwa kati ya vitambaa
huzuia wadudu.
