Climatic conditions such as suitable temperatures and sufficient water supply are further factors that are decisive for a healthy plant. If either of these conditions is unsuitable, the plant can become stressed. Stress weakens plants' defence mechanisms, making them easy targets for pests and diseases.

One of the most important points for an organic farmer is therefore the cultivation of diverse and healthy plants.
